Stories are short-lived by design
A TikTok Story stays up for 24 hours, then disappears from the profile. It doesn’t land in the creator’s grid, and TikTok doesn’t keep a public archive. That’s exactly why people save them: a friend’s trip, a one-off announcement, a story from a brand with a discount code.
The same timer applies to downloading. SaveTT reads the story from TikTok at the moment you paste, so the story has to be live when you do it. Once it’s gone, there’s nothing left to fetch, here or anywhere else.
Video stories and photo stories
| Story type | What SaveTT gives you |
|---|---|
| Video story | Download HD, Download (smaller MP4), Download MP3 |
| Single photo | The photo as JPG, plus the music as MP3 |
| Several photos | Every photo (one by one or all at once), plus MP3 |
For multi-photo posts in general, the TikTok slideshow downloader has more detail.
Being decent about it
A story is meant to be temporary. Saving one for yourself is your call; reposting someone’s story, especially a personal one, is a different thing. Ask before you share it, and credit the creator if they say yes.
Regular videos don’t expire, so for those the main TikTok video downloader is the better page.
